MW4 Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ: Setup Differences
Keep separate setup notes for campaign, multiplayer, and extraction play. A controller profile that feels comfortable in one mode does not establish compatibility or useful settings in another.
Start with the mode you intend to play
For official game information, use the MW4 announcement and Xbox's DMZ overview. Game availability and third-party script compatibility are separate questions.
Campaign
Scripted interactions, vehicles, and mission-specific controls can use the same buttons as a movement macro. Begin with optional automation disabled. If an interaction stops working, compare it with the script disabled before changing controller binds.
Multiplayer
Keep your initial test narrow: one loadout, fixed sensitivity, and a repeatable test location when available. The multiplayer profile guide covers separate AR and SMG roles. Check playlist rules before using input automation.
DMZ and extraction play
Inventory, looting, interaction, and weapon switching deserve separate checks. Avoid testing a new shortcut for the first time during a valuable run. The DMZ checklist focuses on those interactions without claiming a tested Hades DMZ preset.
Keep the evidence with the profile
Record the mode and build alongside each weapon profile. A successful test in a campaign mission is not evidence of ranked eligibility or a complete multiplayer compatibility test.
