MW4 Battle Rifle Profiles: Fire Modes and Recoil Testing

A battle-rifle profile needs to match the weapon's fire mode. Test semi-auto pacing separately from full-auto recoil, and save a different profile if switching modes changes how the weapon responds. This guide provides a test method, not a tested MW4 weapon ranking or preset.

Establish the manual baseline

Use one weapon and attachment setup. Disable rapid fire, movement automation, and recoil assistance. Record the fire mode and controller settings, then compare individual shots with short bursts. Check whether each shot returns near the same point before adding compensation.

Separate trigger timing from recoil

For semi-auto fire, verify that each deliberate trigger press produces the expected shot. If a supported rapid-fire option skips shots or feels irregular, disable it and compare again. Faster input timing does not establish a faster in-game fire rate.

For full-auto fire, leave rapid fire disabled. Follow the anti-recoil testing sequence and check the opening burst as well as sustained fire. Correction that helps a long burst may pull the first shots below the target.

Save the result by fire mode

Record the fire mode in the profile name or notes. Include weapon, attachments, sensitivity, and script version in your weapon profile record. Retest after switching any of them.

For a semi-auto precision role, the marksman profile guide covers shot pacing in more detail. Do not copy its values into a different weapon without repeating the test.
